A client in the north metro came to us with a specific vision for a mobile sauna: serious capacity, and durable enough to take anywhere. We designed this 8x16 unit from the ground up for him.
The cedar benches are built to hold up to 15 adults comfortably, by design. The tiered layout puts everyone in a good position relative to the heat. At the center is an IKI wood-fired stove loaded with sauna stones. It gets hot fast and stays consistent, which matters when sessions run back to back.
One feature is unlike anything else we have built: a trap door in the dressing room floor. Pull the sauna onto a frozen lake in January, open the door, and you can go from the sauna to a cold plunge without stepping outside.
The exterior has flush-trimmed windows with warm cedar reveals, custom doors, clean vertical board siding and proper running lights. It looks finished parked at a private event or in a driveway.
After taking delivery, the client turned it into a rental sauna for events and commercial use. He then came back and had us build permanent outdoor saunas at his home in Champlin and at his cabin up north.
